Christian Formation for a New Year

Christian Formation for a New Year

Begin the new year with Christian Formation sessions on select Sunday Mornings, from 9:15-10:10 a.m. in the library, led by Fr. Ted Curtis.

January 15: The prime challenge and duty of any Christian congregation is to move energy and resources from maintenance to mission.  Come and discuss THE FIVE MARKS OF MISSION OF THE ANGLICAN COMMUNION as they apply to the mission and ministry of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

January 29: The British Isles have birthed a particular way to be a Christian. Let’s bask in ENGLISH SPIRITUALITY together.

February 19: Let’s look at some of the dynamics of THE CHURCHES TO WHOM PAUL WROTE HIS LETTERS . . . and perhaps see reflections of ourselves, and St. John’s, in the process.

February 26:  Trouble for the Lenten Journey:  THE PARABLES OF JESUS.

March 5: As Lent begins let’s take a “fierce” look of GUILT, FEAR and SHAME.

March 12: THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS.  Not what they’re hyped up to be.

April 2: Human institutions are created for good but often lose their way:  THE PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS ARE FALLEN.

April 9: How has Jesus saved us?  THEORIES OF THE ATONEMENT.
